Historical Movie Review: Troy

Despite the fact that the film concentrates more on the war and less on the Greek divine beings we despite everything know why the war is begun. The film happens in 1250 B. C. E. During the Bronze Age. After Paris, a Trojan ruler, persuades Helen, the Queen of Sparta, to leave her better half Menelaus and return with him to Troy a war is begun. At the point when Menelaus discovers his significant other has been taken by Trojan he requests that his sibling Agamemnon assist him with getting his better half back. Agamemnon needs power so he chooses to support his sibling. They take 1,000 boats and 50,000 Greeks to Troy to finish their task. With Achilles† help the Greeks can battle the Trojan that have not once been prevailed. Be that as it may, they are halted by Hector who is the Prince of Troy and the contentions start. One of the general blunders the film had was the outfits. The supplies the Greeks are indicated having, for example, the huge round shields and Achilles' protect ive cap are from the Classical time frame. They utilized ensembles from the 5-fourth hundreds of years BC. The timeframe when the epic sonnet was set is before and in that timespan the Greeks utilized little bowl-molded head protectors and light cowhide shields looking like the number eight. Also the umbrella used to protect Paris and Helen during the procession in troy is present day, and we know this in light of the metal spokes that were presumably not created at this point. The pieces of jewelry worn by the on-screen characters have present day catches and the ladies' airings have French snares that most Bronze Age Jewelry didn't have. Later on when King Prima is indicating Paris the sword of Troy we see a nearby perspective on the cutting edge and it would appear that steel or cleaned iron like a ton of the weapons in the film. However, in the Trojan War we are still in the Bronze Age and iron weapons wouldn't have been accessible yet. There were different missteps the chiefs mad e, for example, the difference in hairdo for Helen when she is returning to the boats. At that point when Patrols battles Hector in Achilles' protective layer, Hector cuts him in the chest which would leave an injury UT when Achilles goes to battle Hector in a similar reinforcement no imprints are see. Alongside the blunders of ensembles there are mistakes in topography and the setting of the film. In the scene where the Achaean armada is seen residents from the wide open start to come into the city. Among the creatures being lead there are llamas. It is topographically off base since llamas are from South America and they didn't exist in Troy. More than once the sun is seen ascending over the ocean however that isn't exact on the grounds that the sun ascends in the east and the ocean around Troy is in the north and west. At that point the kid who is sent to discover Achilles alludes to Vagarious as the Thessalonians since he is from Thessaly yet Thessalonians are individuals from th e Greek city of Thessalonians which was settled 1000 years after the clash of Troy. Hence the kid shouldn't have known or utilized the term Thessalonians. There are numerous authentic occasions that the film Troy catches. It is astounding what number of scenes the chief got right however there are likewise numerous authentic errors in the film. At the point when the Greek heads are arranging to offer blessings to Agamemnon, one of them is conveying a red-figured jar. Red-figure earthenware which was made of red mud with a dark coating was not made until the fifth century which was later. At that point iron weapons were first utilized by the Philistines around 11000 BC which was a few years after the Trojan War making it inconceivable for the Trojan to have utilized this sort of â€Å"new innovation' in the war.Overall I thought Troy was an extremely energizing and connecting with film. I as a rule don't watch activity or spine chiller motion pictures yet this one really appeared to be intriguing. I like finding out about Greek divine beings and Greek folklore and this film fused some of it. I got the chance to see an alternate side of it. I enjoyed the manner in which every warrior was spoken to and the various mentalities each were given. I didn't care for the way that they didn't include a title bit a greater amount of the Greek divine beings themselves and the story behind it.Each on-screen character assumed their job to the fullest as I would like to think. I could associate with every one and they took into account a moving enthusiastic encounter. I was tragic on occasion and cheerful at others. At the point when Achilles heads out to battle the film got somewhat delayed with all their talking in advance. Et film streamed together well and I comprehended the plot. The scenes paving the way to the peak and after the peak were both acceptable dislike different motion pictures where the falling activity gets unclear and uninteresting. I would prescribe this film to many individuals.

Dos and Donts of B2B Marketing

Do’s and Don’ts of B2B Marketing The emergence of B2B marketing as the prevailing attitude of e-commerce today has influenced all that has a part in the market. From purchasing materials to their processing towards specific products, placement on the market, purchase systems and distribution to consumers; as well as service development through training and qualification courses within e-learning systems which have also entered content marketing domains businesses implement inbound techniques to optimize their productivity whether in relation to each other or towards the consumers. © Shutterstock.com | designer491Business-to-business marketing has begun to implement new content-based strategies and channels in relations between providers and buyers in the past few years. Studies show that these tendencies are going to grow in the following years. We have, hence, decided to provide basic introduction to how B2B marketing works and pointed out the differentiation points in reference to business-to-customer marketing as well as incorporated a list of advisable and avoidable strategies for B2B marketers. Read through sections 1) Introduction to B2B Marketing; 2) B2B Marketing Do’s and 3) B2B Marketing Don’ts and acquire valuable insights regarding the matter.INTRODUCTION TO B2B MARKETINGBusiness-to-business or B2B marketing is the management of the whole of processes in commerce between business entities with the end goal of providing according to consumer demand. In other words, the final objective of B2B marketing is to secure adequate transformation of mate rials into products, as well as their storage and distribution, in order to be placed on the market and generate revenue. When the B2B marketing discipline emerged in the early 1990s, its approaches were frequently identified with the techniques used in customer marketing. However, in the past fifteen years, its strategies diversified according to necessities of specific processes in the discipline. New tendencies towards content marketing and engagement, as well as documentation of strategies, are showing significant growth in B2B marketing. Here are some up-to-date statistics on content management in B2B marketing:70% of B2B marketing enterprises are increasing content amounts through social media (especially LinkedIn and Twitter), articles on websites, eNewsletters, blogs, in-person events, case studies, videos, webcasts and webinars, infographics, etc.35% of B2B marketing enterprises implement documentation of content strategies and report high-efficiency.Organizational goals of B 2B enterprises for the following year are raising brand awareness (84% of enterprises), generating leads (83%), inducing engagement (81%), increasing sales (75%) and nurturing leads (74%).55% of B2B enterprises intend to increase budgets or content marketing in 2015.The detrimental features of business-to-business marketing are those related to the amount of customers in relation to providers and those of financial nature â€" significantly larger amounts of money are in play in the B2B market than is the case with general consumer market. These properties affect differences in business marketing management which will be discussed later in the text.[slideshare id=26704085doc=b2bresearch2014cmi-130930124820-phpapp01]Decision Matrix in B2B MarketingBusiness to business marketing process involves complex decision-making units (DMU) due to different low/high business risk and low/high financial value relations. These relations change with reference to different target audiences (DMU’s of the potential buyer/seller) and involve specific DMUs accordingly: purchase, technical and legal with varying levels of expertise. This is necessary in order to optimize communication and end results of collaboration.B2B and B2C Marketing Comparison B2B product presentation is usually more complexWhile consumer products frequently target appeal and usefulness on a superficial level, B2B products require profound technical expertise in the field of a potential purchase. A buyer in B2B interaction is not interested in the appearance of the product as much as in specifications in its production, features and functionality, as well as the post sales, support management and issue resolution strategies of the seller.Consequently, the potential continuous large-scale relationship in B2B greatly depends on the (mostly technically focused) ability and expertise of salespeople to provide sufficient amount of valuable data. B2B has lower number of buyers but longer-terms buyersThe B2B marke t is comprised out of roughly 80% of providers in relation to a mere 20% of buyers. In addition to this ratio, the number of buyers is significantly lower than in B2C market. Moreover, the financial revenue from particular customers is higher as is the differentiation in the value of key accounts and other customers for a business.Further on, customers in the B2B market require stronger post-sales support and are likely to opt for a long-term relationship with their providers because of the specific nature of products and services acquired. B2B are more rationalRational management is one of the essential approaches undertaken in B2B marketing. Marketers choose comprehensive strategies to create cohesive brands without too much sub-categorization in order to clearly provide according to their customers’ demand. Proper research and implementation of findings, as well as quality products/services, are something B2B enterprises incorporate vigorously because their customers are more p erceptive and circumspect. B2B has fewer behavioral and needs-based segmentsDue to the smaller amounts of customers as well as, the lesser differentiation between target audience’s particular needs, B2B enterprises have fewer segments of customers and are divided on more of technical than behavioral basis. Frequent segmentation in B2B marketing includes focusing on price, focus on brand and quality, service focus and focus on partnership audiences. These segments are managed according to their characteristics but also based on the strategic importance of the buyer for the enterprise. B2B has higher importance of relationshipB2B marketers must exploit the benefits of customer engagement management strategies in order to ensure retention of key accounts: personalized approach in B2B takes form of a partnership (in addition to timely supply of required products, buyers are looking for stockholders, technical consultants, long-term support and other valuable services which will differ entiate their supplier from competition). As a consequence of the necessity of building a solid relationship with customers, B2B marketing gravitates to sales and technical support as means of promotion more than anything else. In-person meetings and trade shows are what is most invested in when cultivation of relations is in question. B2B drives less innovationIn opposition to risk taking tendencies in innovation of B2C marketing which are caused by the growing need for differentiation, B2B marketers are all in a somewhat similar situation (being recklessly innovative would be unproductive) and build innovation from quality research and collected information on trends which have been established upstream so as to create a sustainable market.[cp_modal id=cp_id_75506] [/cp_modal]B2B MARKETING DO’SDo Prioritize Measurable ObjectivesRather than focusing solely on diagnostics such as database size or lead scores, you should use them as means of objective measurement of activity and potential conversion through stages of customer lifecycle. This way you will be able to have qualitative and quantitative results in reference to the market. Consequently, you will be able to prioritize your objectives of measurement depending on your current state. For example, if you are attracting a lot of prospects, you will focus on qualifying their receptiveness for potential conversion, nurturing their engagement through expert content presentation (within your industry) and acquisition of new ones.Do Articulate your Business in a Customer-focused WayRelationship construction is crucial for successful B2B marketing management so you should implement an outside-in perspective when structuring your campaigns. The holy grail of marketing is being able to articulate o ffers to customers not as sales but as means to reach their preferred ends (because a customer essentially does not want a drill, they want a hole). An outside-in perspective, i.e. examination of your target audience will provide insights on what to focus on. However, incorporate these insights into something your visions because brands satisfy customer’s desires but are autonomous at the in the process.Do Target your Customer SegmentationProper allocation of investment (of time, money and personnel), as well as the efficiency of your overall marketing endeavors, depends on the determination of segment characteristics in your target customers. Such results are obtained by data collection, analysis as well as interaction. The more informed you are of your potential buyers, the more you will be able to answer their particular needs.Do Perform Content MarketingIn order to make your customer more knowledgeable about your business and its products as well as services that accompany it (post-sales support, technical consultation, etc.) you should implement content marketing strategies. Identify and align content with regard to all of the stages of the customer journey and present it through the implementation of effective tactics â€" such as social media, in-person communication, blogs, newsletters and a variety of others.Content marketing strategies introduce your business to prospects as well as general public and as such serve as an excellent technique for branding a company and expanding its clientele.Do Invest your Effort in Skill Development, Expansion and Retention of CustomersBuyers in the B2B market have more knowledge of the industry within their purchase necessities and a higher awareness of what their needs are (as opposing to the consumer market). In order to prevail in B2B market, you have to invest in personnel skills (especially sales and technical departments) and expansion of qualifications so your company could communicate with customers and del iver according to demand on a satisfactory level. Moreover, as there are fewer customers in the B2B market, it is essential to focus time and money on their retention. As we have mentioned above, B2B marketing aims at attracting long-term highly profitable accounts.Do Share your Knowledge and Even Some Trade Secrets with your B2B CustomersAs relations between a customer and the provider in B2B marketing resemble a partnership, it is advisable to let your prospects know what and how you are doing the things they require. Sharing some trade secrets will convince your customers of your expertise and competence. Presenting content (such as webinars, courses or ebooks) should be free because it builds the most positive relationship with prospects. Your target customers are not willing to perform these operations and processes by themselves, but they want to be well informed in matters of their investment (because these investments are significantly higher than in the B2C market).Examples of Successful B2B Marketing StrategyIncorporation of content and its channels into B2B marketing strategies:Evernote is using e-mail and video marketing to promote and stimulate free trials of their services for other businesses. The campaign comprises out of e-mail recommendation for ‘how-to’ videos on their landing pages with specific features according to the type of business they are targeting.Hubspot launches consecutive e-mail and landing pages campaigns through which they promote free content in forms of e-books and webinars. They are providing insightful knowledge in their field and are thus building engagement towards their business among potential customers.Nokia Solutions and Network Users established a PowerPoint database on Slideshare where they share knowledge and expertise with customers. It is a way of proving authority as well as involvement with target audiences.Petrofac, which is an oil industry company, offers case studies for raising understanding of their a rea of expertise based on the type of service or project a prospect might be interested in. In this way, they are informing prospects but also presenting themselves as expert potential business collaborators.Simply Business have created diverse guides for Google+, social media management and other forms used for marketing optimization. They target their content to small businesses and in doing so promote their services of business insurance.B2B MARKETING DON’TSDont Rush with your B2B CustomersCreating an instantaneous network of customers is not only virtually impossible nowadays but it is also not sustainable if there is no substance in your business. Instead of chasing buyers, take time and focus on building a comprehensive union of expertise, skilled employees and targeted marketing strategies for diverse stages of customer lifecycle which will be based on thorough examination and analysis of the current market. Form a brand and the customers will come. In order to do so, consu lt with experienced brand experts so as to invest the adequate amount of time, money and effort in all of your processes.Simultaneously begin customer engagement processes and create a solid audience base that can be nurtured into customers.Dont Pretend you Have Products you Cannot OfferDo not employ traditional tactics such as deceiving prospect regarding the products or services you offer. Bear in mind that amount of customers is not endless; if you prove to be a fraud (in any sense) you will lose not only your existing prospects, leads and customers but also the chance to bring in new ones (word of mouth travels fast).Dont Copy CompetitionThe quality of service and expertise, as well as the realization of projects, is what differentiate you from competition. Claiming to have something better than your competition or copying their successful endeavours will most likely result in mediocre products and services as well as inconsistency in realization â€" in other words, it will brin g more trouble than profit.Dont Overdo MarketingSocial media in B2B marketing serves as a discussion platform not the presentation of useless information. Hence, your content marketing should promote your products and services but not advertize them â€" content must be built as niche-oriented and customer-focused. Form a comprehensive and all-encompassing marketing strategy with specific objectives every step of the way but make sure you are subtle and useful in your endeavors towards prospects.Dont Overdo with the DataWe have mentioned numerous times the importance of data analysis and documentation of strategies for B2B marketing. However, a massive amount of data which does not have applicable properties and actual value is completely useless. Determine which activities need to be monitored and documented and why. In other words, choose metrics that will be beneficial in the realization of your objectives. Do not collect data for its sake (it is time and finance consuming as well as utterly pointless). While quality and a holistic approach to the market is something highly advisable to entrepreneurs who interact with consumers as it ensures long-term profitability, in the business-to-business market, these properties are a necessity. It is practically impossible to become a brand without careful examination of the market and prospects. By analyzing these observations, you can determine the amounts and types of investment in certain stages of the customer journey and thus structuralize your campaigns in most productive manners. Distribution of content among your prospects will enhance acquisition process as well as attract new prospects and leads. The tools of inbound marketing will enable continuous monitoring of your existing customers and their behavioral patterns that will be beneficial for the establishment of perpetual relations. These relations will influence not only the longevity of your business but also its scope. Consequently, proper marketing man agement can maximize the possibilities of overall business management. 560 â€" Do’s and Donts of B2B Marketing

British Policy Towards EU Integration Free Essays

†Therefore, there is no straight choice about whether Britain’s political future is to be ’European’ or otherwise. This reflects not just the domestic complexity and combustibility of the debate about European integration, but also a profound sense of ambiguity about what the European Union is now and what it might yet become† (Colin Hay 2002).This quote describes Britain’s position and views towards the European Union very well in order to start my discussion about their political role towards European integration. We will write a custom essay sample on British Policy Towards EU Integration or any similar topic only for you Order Now In this essay I will start by looking into how history has its influence on the given subject and what needs to be done to convince the public that the EU is a necessary institution to be a part of. Furthermore I would like to look at the issue of the EMU which I see as a key part of the European integration. Historical aspectsBritain has in parts of the historical aspect had a hegemonic role in the world and even playing a dominant part in the European economy (post Napoleonic wars) as Rosamond argues Britain played a great part in the economic order that was laid down in the nineteenth century displacing various versions of national political economy (Hay 2002, Rosamond). When Britain also felt that being one of the main reasons that the allies won the Second World War, it shows how they see themselves on top of the world hierarchy.Having this in mind and the fact that ‘British politicians and officials never had any intention of joining the nascent moves towards a European union in the 1950s’ (Not Playing Their Games, The Economist 2010), it seems that Britain is only in the EU only of necessity and not of their own will. I know that this could be an overstateme nt, but when looking into some of the texts read before writing this essay I have stumbled upon multiple arguments of why Britain had to join the EC/EU and this is somehow concerning. How does this then affect the British policy towards EU integration?Well when a majority of the public, parts of the media and a number of political parties are EU sceptic, it might quite easily have a negative effect. This must be changed if the Britain/EU relationship is to succeed. The politicians need to stress to the population how important the EU is to Britain and vice versa. Especially a crucial aspect to this issue is that Britain is not a hegemony anymore and as Europe has evolved after WWII with the EC/EU it cannot just turn its back on things and has to play an active role for the European Union to ‘flourish’ in the best possible way.But this seems as a difficult task, having the above mentioned in mind and the fact that Brittons seeing the problematique as Mrs. Thatcher described it â€Å"in my lifetime all our problems have come from mainland Europe, and all the solutions have come from the English-speaking nations across the world. † (Not Playing Their Games, The Economist 2010). The EMU issue If Britain really should take a big step towards European integration, it should be a part of the EMU and replace the Sterling with the Euro. There a also various other things that needs to be done in order for this, but as mentioned earlie r the EMU issue is a key one in this discussion. And that’s where the problem may lie. Because if Britain chose to do so in replacing the currencies, it could indirectly send a message to the public that Britain is giving up their sovereignty. And looking back on how ‘nationalistic’(used in terms as described in the article by Daniel Woodley, Nationalism, regionalism and Europeanism, 2006) and ‘patriotic’ the Brittons are about their country I cannot see how this could be possible.Taking into consideration the fact that both Greece and Ireland have/is struggling economically, I can only see how this will give the EU sceptics even more ‘fire power’ against the EMU and the EU. This is a major barricade in this situation and I do not see how Britain can integrate itself in ‘Europe’ before this has been taken care of with positive outcomes. Furthermore I do not think that a solution in British integration is to join the EMU, but why this is will be in my conclusion. Conclusion Looking at this essay I have only discussed a few topics in a much larger puzzle, but the fact that the British ‘identity’ and how they see themselves compared to the EU and where it seems to be heading. I think that these are some of the key issues Britain should look into in determining how (if) to integrate in ‘Europe’. It appears to me that Britain is in a place they do not want to be, but still are due to the fact that it would have negative economic consequences if they backed out of the EU.British politicians in my opinion should revise they are there in the first place and why the public is so sceptic in the first place. I am sure this has already been done, but it is disturbing that Britain is at the bottom of the poll from the Economist on whether the EU is a good thing and at the same time trustworthy. Adding to this is the public’s â€Å".. ignorance of what the EU does and how it works. The mistaken belief that the EU is responsible for as much as 80% of all legislation in Europe (it is no more than 50%.. †(Not Playing Their Games, The Economist 2010).If the politicians (even the Eurosceptics that still want to be a part of the EU) want to maintain a healthy European Union and why Britain should stay as a member, they have to persuade the general public how the EU really works and what ‘good’ things come from this. This is easier said than done and when having the Problems in Ireland and Greece in mind it will not be easy for the Government to change the public’s point of view towards the EU. Britain is going to play a big part of the future of the EU, but the big question is which path they choose to take. How to cite British Policy Towards EU Integration, Papers

Through implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage framework I am meeting the four Themes which the framework is based around; A Unique Child, Positive Relationships, Enabling Environments and Learning and Development. Through meeting the four Themes in my daily practice I can ensure the values are being put into practice. 3 4) A time I have witnessed an example of poor principles and values was when a new manager Pauline had been at the setting for a couple of days. I was asked to support the children in Mighty Oaks, children aged 3 5, with Pauline as Julie the room leader was off. At focus time Pauline insisted on taking the lead although she had not yet sat in on the children focus time before and did not know their routine. Pauline started the focus time by picking out the children’s registration name cards and asking them to identify their name before putting it on the registration board. She insisted on each child to be sat on their bottom with the legs crossed silently to wait for their name. One of the quieter children James who is also a nervous and shy child, was messing with the straps on his shoes. Pauline asked him to leave his shoe alone and to sit nicely with his legs crossed and wait for his name to be shown. James stopped then continued again to play with the straps on his shoes. Pauline reached over to James and took the shoe off his foot and threw it to the side of the group. When reaching James’ name card he put his hand up and said that it was his name, Pauline then replied to him with â€Å"James it says on this card, I thought your name was Cinderella because I had to take your shoe off you† then handing him his card and continuing on with the focus time whilst James sat with no shoe on his foot. Through out the focus session she was impatient with the children and when they did not answer her question on what day it was today she referred to the group of children â€Å"Take it we are all brain dead today. Through this focus time there was more than one value and principle which was displayed in Pauline’s poor practice as well as no signs of implementation of our settings behaviour policy and procedure. The children’s welfare was certainly not paramount to Pauline during the focus time and that the children listened and foll owed her instructions was more paramount to her. Pauline’s communication skills with the children were poor and did not meet the needs of a majority of the children in the group. James was embarrassed and humiliated in front of the other children in the group and his self-esteem was effected. Through targeting James Pauline did not actively promote the children’s health and well being by not respecting his needs and displaying it in front of the other children, who she was meant to be setting an example to. She did not contribute to the children’s care, learning and development and safeguarding and when referring to the children as â€Å"brain dead† she showed poor practice of equal opportunities as well disregarding the settings policy and procedure regarding behaviour which states all staff should â€Å"treat all children fairly and with respect, recognising that each is an individual and being aware of their particular needs. To raise children’s self esteem and provide opportunities for them to develop to their potential. † I waited for the children to be sat down at dinner time before I arranged to speak to Pauline in private, as it was a time the children would be settled and I could arrange for other staff members could support the children. When up in the office I firstly explained to Pauline that I did not agree with the way she carried out the children’s morning focus time and that it was not in accordance of the routine the children are use to. I gave reasons to why it would have been more appropriate for myself to take the lead during focus time as I am aware of the routine and structure and I know what the abilities and needs are for each child. Pauline disagreed with the points I raised and said she had observed briefly the focus time over the few days she had been here and from what she had seen, the children had fidgeted through out and she wanted it to change. I justified the structure that was already in place for the focus time identifying that it meets every child’s needs within that group and that today it did anything but meet the needs of the children. I brought up the way she had spoken to the children and that it was not professional nor appropriate and that she had targeted and humiliated James. Pauline tried to justify her actions explaining that she had already told James not to mess with his shoe in which I replied to by asking what harm was he doing by pulling the straps on his own shoes. I explained that James is a very nervous child and that it had taken a long time for him to settle in to the setting and that Julie had spent a lot of time bonding with him and supporting him whilst he made friendships with the children and helped build up his self-esteem and confidence. When she carried out the focus time I reflected back on her practice and explained to her that she never once made James feel valued which would not help his self-esteem or confidence and by referring to him as â€Å"Cinderella† she humiliated him in front of his friends. I then brought how she had referred to the whole group of children as â€Å"brain dead† and that was far from a professional and appropriate term to use towards the children as well as in the setting environment. We discussed what she had said and Pauline could not see a identify any faults with her practice during the focus time today. Wanting her to be able to put her self in my position I asked Pauline how would she like to know that her Grandson was being referred to as â€Å"brain dead† in his nursery by someone who is meant to ensuring that his welfare and wellbeing is paramount. I was replied to with a negative attitude and Pauline began to inform me of her history in the early years sector and that she had never had a complaint made against her practice before. Continuing to try and get Pauline to see how she was wrong I tried to explain that the children in the setting could have relatives who are seriously ill with brain injuries but Pauline continued to disregard what I had to say. Seeing that she was not willing to admit she was wrong or show any interest in what I had to say I brought the conversation to an end. At the end of my shift I contacted the owner of the nursery, John, and arranged for him to come in so I could discuss the incident with him before my shift the next day. When I got home I recorded what had happened accurately in a note book and recorded Pauline‘s response. The next day I explained to John what had happened and that when I discussed the incident with Pauline she was not willing to identify her poor practice nor willing to listen to what I had to say. John wrote down what I had told him and I showed him my own written record of the incident, before arranging a meeting with Pauline and himself. John gave me feedback of the meeting keeping to confidentiality explaining that the meeting had gone in accordance and should I have any other concerns not to hesitate in contacting him. 5) Meeting the individual needs of all children lies at the heart of the EYFS. Practitioners should deliver personalised learning, development and care to help children to get the best possible start in life (Practice Guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage). Through implementing the values and principles in day to day practice, practitioners can ensure the key purpose of the every child matters outcomes, being promoted in the early years sector. Through settings providing an effective key person system for children and their families, all of the principles and values can be met. What matters most in ‘achieving quality’ is carers who are ‘attentive, responsive, stimulating and affectionate’. Most practitioners try to be this for all the children they work with. However, being realistic, it is very difficult to offer all these things to all children and this makes huge emotional demands on practitioners. But the key person approach makes such relationships with children more possible and manageable to achieve for each child (The Early Years Foundation Stage Effective practice; Key Person). The key person system ensures that each child’s needs are met and supported through continuous observations, assessments and planning as well through forming good relationships with families. This helps practitioners contribute to each child’s care and learning. It is important practitioners understand the benefits of working in partnership with parents and families, as they are their child’s first and most enduring carers and educators. Working in partnership with parents and families can be carried out through meeting the needs of all families accessing the setting and sharing, providing and requesting information through the day to day transitions effectively respecting each family as an individual unit. Including families in their child’s observation, assessment and planning cycle will ensure each child’s needs are met to the highest standard. Appropriate and adequate policies and procedures should be in place for all practitioners, volunteers, visitors and families to follow and put into practice. Settings should have in place risk assessments on the environment and equipment with practitioners encouraging and supporting children to manage risk safely providing age appropriate toys and equipment. It is important that settings provide a welcoming, enabling and safe environment providing enhanced CRB disclosures for all staff to complete in order to ensure the welfare of each child is paramount and to ensure safeguarding is reflected in every aspect of a settings practice. In addition to carrying out risk assessments, providing correct staff ratios and encouraging children to carry out self risks under suitable supervision settings must complying with data protection and the welfare requirements children’s personal safety is safeguarded, whilst allowing for risk and challenge as appropriate to the capabilities of the child. Settings with confidentiality and safeguarding procedures and policies in place allows practitioners to implement and respect ,as appropriate, confidentiality and agreements about confidential information, identifying information must be shared when a child’s protection and well-being are at risk. All staff and children’s information should be locked securely away with no un-authorised access and information shared on a need to know terms. The needs, rights and views of each child should be at the centre of all practice and by ensuring all practitioners comply with the UN convention and value, respect, support, listen to and acknowledge each child within the setting, settings can promote it. Settings should aim to support and identify every child’s needs and abilities in order to promote the key purpose in the early years sector, every child matters. It is important to promote each child’s sense of identity and belonging through the option of choice, acknowledgement, praise, encouragement and reassurance given and displaying each child’s work and achievements, in order to recognise the importance of self-esteem and resilience to every child’s development. Every child should be able to celebrate their own birthday and respect should be given to those who do not with consideration taken to each child’s religion, culture and background. Individuality, difference and diversity should be positively valued and celebrated ensuring each child feels welcomed and valued providing them with their own personal area to keep their belongings. A variety of cultural and religious festivals should be celebrated taking in to consideration of the cultures and religions within the settings. Through providing multi cultural meals and snacks for the settings menu’s, providing a wide variety of equipment to help support the needs of the children within the setting, allowing children and families to share items and stories from their home life and displaying positive images will allow children using settings to be introduced to the wide variety ways of life and actively supports each child as a unique child. Having equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory policies and procedures in place and implemented allows settings to actively promote equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice. Settings can put policies into practice by ensuring the environment is accessible and welcoming with practitioners respecting, valuing and greet all families. Using posters, pictures, photographs and diagrams on notice, menu and welcoming boards and news letters, as well as text in different languages and practitioners verbally relaying information to families in a way which meets their individual needs allows settings to work in partnership with families and ensures equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory for all families accessing settings. Using key words in selected languages when English is not a child’s first language, implementing makaton, displaying vision cards and picture time lines and providing for children’s additional needs appropriately promotes the key purpose of the early years sector, as the needs of each child are being met and supported. Children’s health and well-being can be actively promoted through healthy eating policies and health and hygiene policy in place as well as regular staff training. Communicating with families, practitioners being aware of children’s needs and effective sharing of appropriate information ensure each child’s needs are being met. Informing children about the importance of health, hygiene and exercise, and encouraging children to take control of their own personal hygiene and respecting and considering the needs of others introduces children to managing and contributing to their own health and well-being. In order to enrich the experiences of children more widely professional knowledge, skills and values are shared appropriately through working in partnership with families and multi agency working. The Early Years Foundation Stage framework document makes it clear that multi-agency working is a key part of the framework that is designed to deliver improved outcomes for all children in their learning and development. Multi-agency working and the integration of services for children and families is central to government policy across the disciplines including Health (White Paper Saving Lives: our healthier nation, 1999); Social Services (White Paper Modernising Social Services, 1998; Modernising Health and Social Services: national priorities guidance, DoH, 1999; the National Service Framework, DoH, 2004); and the Childcare Act 2006. A common thread running through all government documents is that services and agencies need to work together to make the delivery of services more effectiveâ€Å"(EYFS Agency work benefits). Through attending courses and providing further training for staff settings can ensure they are up to date and effectively implementing the overall outcome of every child matters. Word count ; 2926

The Technology Effect Professor Ramos Blog

The Technology Effect When walking around campus, plaza, or anywhere you see people communicating, not face to face but these people are communicating through their phones. With technology advancing at a fast rate, who is to say that technology is going to help so much that we rely on it for everything that it actually hurts society rather than help it. With facts showing that people in this era rely on technology to socialize with other people because they are socially awkward, also kids growing up with technology in their primary years show to be less active, but rather than using technology for all the wrong reasons, technology can help nurture creative talent. Is technology limiting our creativity? We see people on the daily walking on their phones with their buddies texting each other through their phones rather than look at each other and spit words out their mouth. This is what technology is doing to a lot of people. At this rate people will probably not see sunlight because they will have futuristic robots running errands for them. We have difficulties having normal face to face conversations because our reliance on technology unlike back then when people would go outside and look for those new adventures and enjoy themselves. Technology like ipads, smartphones, video games, and even television is what has replaced our stone age fun. According to the Wall Street Journal, â€Å" A recent Pew Research survey of adults in the U.S found that 71% use Facebook at least occasionally, and 45% of Facebook users check the site several times a day.† Just because they are on this social app it doesn’t make these people social because they are talking to one another throug h a screen with no tone, and no body language and that’s communicating face to face, but however this statistic proves that people are spending far more time on their phones on social media than face to face conversations. Students at Connecticut College, about a total of 112 male and female undergraduate students were surveyed about their social skills, technology use, and social anxiety according to Cecilia Brown from The Department of Psychology. They predicted that the participants who took the survey that used technological communication a lot more than face to face communication or prefered it to face to face communication, would have high social anxiety and low social skills and came out to be right. According to Cecilia brown not only people in schools, outside activity, etc employers are complaining about the workers lack of interpersonal communication skills they have, and communication skills have on a rapidly rate to the top of the list of qualities required of employees. At work where we should all be working as a team communicating to one another rather than waiting for one another to say something or just being flat out weird. Looking at ourselves and how we grew up in the past, we grew up with our imagination and outdoor activity. Nowadays you see families stop their babies from crying with technology, and these kids aren’t watching Elmo or any type of educational videos. They are watching kids play with toys or watching kids play videogames and this blows my mind to this day. According to The Telegraph children are entering a â€Å"tragic decline† from the age of seven, with activity levels dropping from K-6th grade. Kids in this era have come to a â€Å"digital dependence†, fitness experts claim it will shorten lives with sedentary lifestyles, which means they will live lives with little to no activity at all. People who live these sedentary lifestyles are often lying down or sitting while engaged with an activity such as television, video games, or their mobile device. Head of ukactive Kids, Jack Shakespeare, said â€Å"Physical inactivity is society’s silent killer and big gest tragedy is that it’s creeping up on our children before they’ve even left the playground.† He believes to fix this is a â€Å"cultural shift† to protect inactive generation from a lifetime of health problems and creativity. Instead of using technology for the wrong reasons because you are bored and want to pass time, technology can be used to be educationally inclined if used correctly. It can be used to be exposed to new things, ask questions, tune in to the right distractions, brainstorming using digital tools, even things like blogging can have an effective way for the development of creative thinking and writing. According to Bentley University because of technology it gives entrepreneurs the power to fund their dreams via group funding platforms, also gives students the opportunity to learn new skills with professors and classmates remotely. As long as you are maintaining a balanced lifestyle between technology and creativeness outside of technology use, it will only help each one of us to become the best person we can be. In conclusion, technology is one of the great things we have today in this era and if not used correctly can have us humans live that socially awkward life, even have our kids less active so therefore giving them the possibility to having sedentary lifestyles, but if used correctly can help boost our knowledge on anything we set our minds too. To fix such problems its starts from the parents, will you be the change? Genealogy Research in Great Britain

Genealogy Research in Great Britain Once youve explored as much of your family tree as you can online, its time to head to Britain and the land of your ancestors. Nothing can compare to visiting the places where your ancestors once lived, and on-site research offers access to a variety of records that arent available elsewhere.   England Wales: If your family tree leads you to England or Wales, then London is a good place to start your research. This is where youll find most of Englands major repositories. Most people begin with the Family Records Centre, jointly operated by the General Register Office and the National Archives, as it holds the original indexes to the births, marriages and deaths registered in England and Wales from 1837. There are also other collections available for research, such as death duty registers, census returns and the Prerogative Court of Canterbury wills. If your short on research time, however, most of these records can also be searched online (most for a fee) in advance of your trip. Located within walking distance of the Family Records Centre, the library of the Society of Genealogists in London is another excellent place to start your search for British ancestry. Here youll find many published family histories and the largest collection of transcribed parish registers in England. The library also has census records for all of the British Isles, city directories, poll lists, wills, and an advice desk where you can get expert suggestions on how and where to continue your research. The National Archives in Kew, outside of London, has many records that are not available elsewhere, including nonconformist church records, probates, letters of administration, military records, taxation records, association oath rolls, maps, parliamentary papers, and court records. This is generally not the best place to start your research, but is a must-visit for anyone looking to follow up clues found in more basic records such as census enumerations and parish registers. The National Archives, which covers England, Wales and the central UK government, is especially important for anyone researching members of the armed forces. Before you visit, be sure to check out their online catalog and comprehensive research guides. Other important research repositories in London include the Guildhall Library, home to the parish records of the City of London and records of city guilds; the British Library, most notable for its manuscripts and Oriental and India Office collections; and the London Metropolitan Archives, which houses records of metropolitan London. For further Welsh research, the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth is the main center for family history research in Wales. There you will find copies of parish registers and family collections of deeds, pedigrees and other genealogical material, as well as all wills proved in the Welsh diocesan courts. The twelve County Record Offices of Wales hold copies of the indexes for their respective areas, and most also hold microfilm copies of records such as census returns. Most also hold their local parish registers dating back to 1538 (including some that arent also kept at the National Library of Wales).   Scotland: In Scotland, most of the main national archives and genealogical repositories are housed in Edinburgh. This is where youll find the General Register Office of Scotland, which holds civil birth, marriage and death records from 1 January 1855, plus census returns and parish registers. Next door, the National Archives of Scotland preserves a host of genealogical material, including wills and testaments from the 16th century to the present day. Just down the road lies the National Library of Scotland where you can search trade and street directories, professional directories, family and local histories and an extensive map collection. The Library and Family History Centre of the Scottish Genealogy Society is also located in Edinburgh, and houses a unique collection of family histories, pedigrees and manuscripts.   Go Local Once youve explored the national and specialist repositories, the next stop is generally the county or municipal archive. This is also a good place to start if your time is limited and you are definite about the area where your ancestors lived. Most county archives include microfilm copies of national records, such as certificate indexes and census records, as well as important county collections, such as local wills, land records, family papers and parish registers. ARCHON, hosted by the National Archives, includes contact details for archives and other record repositories within the UK. Check the regional directory to find county archives, university archives and other unique resources in your area of interest.   Explore Your History Be sure to leave time on your journey to visit the places where your ancestors once lived, and explore the history of your family. Use census and civil registration records to identify the addresses where your ancestors resided, take a trip to their parish church or the cemetery where they are buried, enjoy dinner in a Scottish castle, or visit a specialty archive or museum to learn more about how your ancestors lived. Look for interesting stops such as the National Coal Museum in Wales; the West Highland Museum in Fort William, Scotland; or the National Army Museum in Chelsea, England. For those with Scottish roots, Ancestral Scotland offers a number of clan-themed iteneraries to help you walk in your ancestors footsteps.

Human Rights in Politics Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Human Rights in Politics - Essay Example An obsessive fear for national security and fear about infiltration of the Government, lead to the intensified scrutiny of CPUSA and other radical political groups. In 1947 President, Harry Truman was instrumental in ushering in a law that permitted authorities to investigate and prosecute federal employees found to be disloyal to the Government. In 1949, 11 top leaders of the CPUSA were convicted under Alien Registration Act (South Act of 1940.), which made it illegal to advocate the violent overthrow of the American Government. In 1950 the Internal Security Act, was promulgated. This act required the registration of communist and communist front organizations. From 1950 to 1954 senator Joseph Mc McCarthy of Wisconsin used congressional investigations to persecute communists. This assumed the proportions of the Salem Witch Craft Trials and grave travesties of justice took place. Even Charlie Chaplin was not spared in this attack on those suspected to be either communists or communis t supporters. This had the effect of producing a drastic reduction in the number of members in the CPUSA. (Microsoft Corporation Encarta Encyclopaedia , Communism. Timothy. J Colton.). On the 11th of September 2001, a most dastardly attack was conducted on the innocent civilians of the USA by Al Qaeda terrorists under the demoniac guidance of their fiendish leader Osama Bin Laden.

Improvement of Writing in the English Course Essay

Improvement of Writing in the English Course - Essay Example   The first aspect of improvement was noted was with regards to use and misuse of certain types of observation. For instance, many of the sentences that were exhibited in the essay in question showed no sign appropriate modulation for defendant and the clauses. This is, of course, a problem due to the fact that without proper punctuation for longer sentences, a danger of run-on sentences is created. Moreover, without clear punctuation on the sentences, it was possible for the reader to become lost in this the main point of what was being stated. A further issue was noted with regards to the way in which, as were used. This was probably partly out of fear that they would be used incorrectly if used at all; however, without utilizing proper comments within the paper, the flow and main points they were attempting to be related to the reader were almost invariably lost. Although these two aspects of punctuation with the most common, there was also the technical problem exhibited on mor e than one occasion of the subject for agreement. This is, of course, an issue that many non-native speakers struggle to exhibit in their work; yet, it is something that I found is been greatly improved during this particular course. More than merely gaining a better understanding of what birds should be used in what way with which subjects, the better identification of how this course is helped educate me is with regards to the fact of how I am almost nearly always aware of the fact that I need to focus upon this aspect of writing.... of what birds should be used in what way with which subjects, the better identification of how this course is helped educate me is with regards to the fact of how I am almost nearly always aware of the fact that I need to focus upon this aspects of writing. From the non-technical standpoint, the writing in the previous essay exhibited a clear lack of flow and organization. It is easy to argue that one of the most important aspects of any essay is not linked nor the level of language that is use; rather, it is the ability to assist sinks we and clearly state what the main points are and relate them in an organized and coherent manner. This is does not mean to say that the essay was completely disorganized or without any sense. Instead, what was noted after a careful review of the essay was the fact that it oftentimes displayed a wondering style and did not adhere to the points of the thesis topics of each and every paragraph. Instead, additional information that was somewhat tangentia lly related to the subject matter was oftentimes included as an aside. More than merely being distracting, this practice led to the essay losing overall coherence and not being able to express itself adequately to the reader. As a means of correcting such a practice, I’ve come to the realization that it is absolutely necessary to outline each and every essay prior to writing and be forever mindful of topic sentence and thesis sentence for each and every paragraph. This helps the writer as a means of staying on point and fully developing the ideas at hand rather than rushing on to new and unrelated information. Another aspect of the students writing that is greatly benefited from the English course is with regards to the level of broad and otherwise unsubstantiated statements that were

SHIFT IN THE MARKETING PROCESS IN INDIA In the ancient times the buying and selling of things was done by barter system. Barter is a system in which exchange goods and services are directly exchanged for other goods or services without using a medium of exchange, such as money. now in this generation the marketing with the help of internet is on the rise. Most people can use the Web since it is affordable and easy to access. Internet is a fast and flexible means for marketing. Shopping on the Internet is convenient as there is no time restriction, it is comfortable since it is in a user friendly environment and there is also an instant satisfaction of ordering, paying and delivering. A one-to-one basis, as well as, a two way communication with customers through the Internet is possible. Enhancing brand image, creating awareness and providing customer service are more important than just selling the products or entertaining customers. With better technologies, companies can create a stronger brand image and thus increase sales. On the other side, it is easier for customers to receive a kind of acknowledgement; feeling that they did not waste their time . Nowadays, people live a busy life and shopping online is time consuming for them. The company also saves time since whenever a customer uses his/her credit card to purchase a product.E-marketing is seen as a promotional as well as informational tool. Earlier the customers had to do advance payment which was not favourable in the interest of the customer as many complaints were reported in the goods which they ordered. They should be understandable and easy to search information needed. Moreover, it must continuously be up-to-date for most recent information about the company. Companies also use different types of strategy to know what are the wants and needs of customers. Some of them are : Product Strategy Brand recognition is made clear on the Internet but the number of purchase is not there yet. Sometimes the products are not available on the Web site and consumers hesitate before getting this particular product. To increase their confidentiality, recognized vendors should be mentioned on the Net. Authenticity is important for both sellers and products. Pricing Strategy In the long run, it will be better for the firms,if they can concentrate on offering products with the unique characteristics at the most suitable cost. Online shoppers differentiate the products/services by the benefits and quality . A low price strategy should rely on cost advantage and high volume to be able to compete. Distribution Strategy There is a necessity of a direct-to-customer process. The industry has to be the first providing unique services to always be ahead of competitors as fast as possible to make a mark in the mind of customers. Promotional Strategy This depends on the marketing research and consumer preferences. It deals as how to companies want to promote their product. FAQ questions should be provided on the websites along with the advertisements on various sites such as you tube which is most widely used by the people. CONCLUSION The Internet network is a marketing channel used by advertisers, marketers, and society to find the right combination of marketing mix to suit the customers needs. It is important for a company of this age to have access to the Internet to be more successful. Internet marketing targets consumers and Internet advertisements client marketers from companies. People always find themselves under stress of working long hours and they do not have enough time for social activities or even shopping. Thus E-commerce becomes an everyday thing and routine for them. E-mail is also famous for direct marketing in supporting E-commerce activities. Internet should be used with other media for a more effective marketing tool. Internet marketing will become even more important in the future. As more companies will have access to the Internet, they will start doing business over the Internet. Increase in the e commerces economy in india will be in another dimension where customer focus, responsible business practices and innovation are the determinants of success and not only customer relationship. Security will not be an issue anymore because software companies, banks and credit card institutions are working hand in hand to improve Internet security. Companies need to protect themselves in three areas: data integrity, confidentiality of data and authenticity by installing firewalls or routers. Customers will look for a business on the internet since there are unique opportunities for marketing a companys service, selling products and gathering information on the Net. This is the new era of innovation; where everyone will be interacting on the Web. Live video session will be available and a prospective customer may be able to talk to a customer representative directly over the internet in the future will be more beneficial in the interest of customers.

Native American Paper Essay

In the pre-Columbian era when the Europeans had not yet discovered the â€Å"New World† there lived many distinct but also similar tribes that ruled all across. Many tribes existed during this era of prosperity for the Native Americans. A few of the main tribes of it are the Cherokee, Iroquois, Navajo, and Sioux who were all special in their own way. Firstly, the Cherokee were made up of seven clans with which each had a different purpose and job. The names and jobs of all the tribes in English are Long Hair which sends the Peace Chief, Blue who is the oldest; Wolf to protect clans, Wild Potato is the keeper of the land (gatherers), Deer is the fastest runners and hunters, Bird sends messengers, and lastly Paint are the medicine people. The belief system for the Cherokee was that good is rewarded and evil is punished. One main object they used was river cane making and using it for multiple purposes. The Trail of Tears was an important part of the Cherokee past since they used it to move to a different territory. (Information for the Cherokee Paragraph: Secondly, the Iroquois were consisted up of a small amount of tribes such as Cayuga, Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Seneca, and Tuscarora. The main Iroquois considered themselves to be a superior people which lowered their numbers as time went by. One more reason the numbers went down was because they joined the British during the Revolutionary War. The belief of the Iroquois was that they should not kill each other and a sense of internal unity. The way the Iroquois survived was through a political system. Rare Earth Properties

When you look at the Periodic Table, there is a two-row block of elements located below the main body of the chart. These elements, plus lanthanum (element 57) and actinium (element 89), are known collectively as the rare earth elements or rare earth metals. Actually, they arent particularly rare, but prior to 1945, long and tedious processes were required to purify the metals from their oxides. Ion-exchange and solvent extraction processes are used today to quickly produce highly pure, low-cost rare earths, but the old name is still in use. The rare earth metals are found in group 3 of the periodic table, and the 6th (5d electronic configuration) and 7th (5f electronic configuration) periods. There are some arguments for starting the 3rd and 4th transition series with lutetium and lawrencium rather than lanthanum and actinium. There are two blocks of rare earths, the lanthanide series, and the actinide series. Lanthanum and actinium are both located in group IIIB of the table. When you look at the periodic table, notice that the atomic numbers make a jump from lanthanum (57) to hafnium (72) and from actinium (89) to rutherfordium (104). If you skip down to the bottom of the table, you can follow the atomic numbers from lanthanum to cerium and from actinium to thorium, and then back up to the main body of the table. Some chemists exclude lanthanum and actinium from the rare earths, considering the lanthanides to start following lanthanum and the actinides to start following actinium. In a way, the rare earths are special transition metals, possessing many of the properties of these elements. Common Properties of the Rare Earths These common properties apply to both the lanthanides and actinides. The rare earths are silver, silvery-white, or gray metals. The metals have a high luster but tarnish readily in air.The metals have high electrical conductivity. The rare earths share many common properties. This makes them difficult to separate or even distinguish from each other. There are very small differences in solubility and complex formation between the rare earths. The rare earth metals naturally occur together in minerals (e.g., monazite is a mixed rare earth phosphate).Rare earths are found with non-metals, usually in the 3 oxidation state. There is little tendency to vary the valence. (Europium also has a valence of 2 and cerium also a valence of 4.)
